five hours ago the sun set, and in maybe two and a half hours the first signs of light will turn the skies blue. all throughout the evening i was walking around, looking at the buildings and the windows in the clouds that revealed patches of atmosphere when the thought occurred: the sky will always take on shades of blue, regardless of weather, before dawn and after sunset (but not always during). if overcast, the sky will transition from blue to grey, but on clear days we will see a palette of reds and oranges, and if we're lucky, a blend of purples and pinks, too.

we are anchored and balanced in this colour-wonder, bookends to our days, moving onward and looking forward to that next surprise whisp of red and green or whatever accent may flash before our eyes. keep them open, yes.
